Nurse Advisor jobs just got creepy
A new opening has appeared for nurse advisor jobs with maggots! ZooBiotic a pioneering firm are using maggots to treat ulcers and other wounds.
It seem that the 100 year old treatment is making a comeback. Maggots are highly effective and cleaning up infected wounds and dead skin, whilst they love to nibble on something dead or infected they leave the living healthy stuff well alone, a perfect set of companions for people with ulcers and other injuries.
This century has seen the dressing thrive, with all kinds of bandages with drugs built into them available in the market. The thought of a bunch of maggots eating away at you may put more than a few off, but it now seems that wounds that may take weeks to recover using bandages may only take days using maggots.
Zoobiotic are now world leaders in maggot therapy, producing 600,000 maggots per month and treating around 4000 clients in the UK. The treatment is delivered by nurse advisors to the patients using clinically bred maggots and in sealed units from which they cannot escape. If there present growth is maintained they may require more nurse advisors over the coming year.
